On September 22, 2016, Wells Pharmacy Network of Ocala, FL, recalled all sterile human and veterinary products prepared between February 22, 2016, and September 14, 2016, and that remain within expiry. The recall was due to FDA concern over a lack of sterility. Administration of a drug product intended to be sterile that has microbial contamination may result in infections that may be serious and life-threatening.
The recalled products were used for a variety of indications. The recalled products included injectable testosterone and steroids. All recalled products have a label that includes the name Wells Pharmacy Network, logo, drug name, and expiration date.
