Former Officials and Broker of Peanut Corporation of America Indicted Related to Salmonella-Tainted Peanut Products

A 76-count indictment charged four former officials of the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) and a related company with numerous charges relating to salmonella-tainted peanuts and peanut products. Three of the officials have been charged with mail and wire fraud, the introduction of adulterated and misbranded food into interstate commerce with the intent to defraud or mislead, and conspiracy.
